Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. It is Mitchell’s Restaurant’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, mitchellscocoa.com.

What we collect

Event tray inquiries. When you send the event tray form, we receive your name, phone number, email (optional), event date, number of guests, the tray you are interested in, any notes you add, whether you agreed to text messages (and the exact wording you agreed to) and whether you used the English or Spanish page, so we can call you back in your language. The form also records the time it was sent and your device’s internet (IP) address, which helps us spot spam. We use this only to answer your inquiry and plan your order. It is delivered to the system we use to manage catering inquiries.

Sponsor requests. When you send the arcade’s “Become a Sponsor” form, we receive your name, phone number, email, your business’s web address (optional), the logo or ad you upload, whether you’re interested in a website and whether you agreed to text messages (and the exact wording). The file you upload is kept in Vercel Blob, file storage from the company that hosts this site, so we can see your ad. We use this only to answer your request and, if you become a sponsor, to show your ad in the games.

Calls and emails. If you call us or email waffles@mitchellscocoa.com, we use what you tell us to help you.

We do not sell your information, and we don’t share personally identifying information publicly or with third parties, except the service providers that run this site and our inquiries for us, or when required by law.

Text messages

If you tick the text message box on the event tray form, we may text you about your request at the number you gave us. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never required to order.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the service provider that sends our messages for us.

Cookies and your browser

This site does not use advertising cookies. It saves a few small settings in your own browser so the site remembers them: whether you want sound on, your volume, whether you paused the moving parts of the site, when you closed the “save to your phone” card, and in the games your sound setting, best score, chosen paddle and the initials you last entered. They stay on your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

How visitors use the site (Microsoft Clarity)

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use this site, so we can make it easier to use: where visitors click and scroll, which pages they visit, and recordings of visits with what's on screen. Clarity hides what you type into the event tray form, and the form itself, from these recordings. Clarity uses cookies and similar technology to tell visits apart, and collects device details such as your browser, screen size and general location. Microsoft processes this data for us under its Privacy Statement. You can block or clear these cookies in your browser settings; the site works the same without them.

Arcade high scores

If you put your initials on a game’s Top 10, we keep those three letters, your score and the date for up to 30 days, and anyone can see them on that game’s board. To stop cheating and abuse, each game run gets a one-time code that we keep for a few hours, and your device’s internet (IP) address is counted for about 10 minutes to limit how many scores can be sent. Nothing else about you is stored with a score. The scores are kept by our hosting and database providers on our behalf.

We also count how many games are played each day and from which town or city, going by the rough location your internet connection points to. We keep only those totals, never your IP address or anything that identifies you.

Some pages show a Google map or YouTube videos. Those are loaded from Google and YouTube, which may collect information under their own privacy policies when they load or when you use them.

Keeping it safe

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

You are free to refuse our request for your personal information, with the understanding that we may be unable to provide you with some of your desired services. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email waffles@mitchellscocoa.com or call 321.338.2909.
